"Jeweled Insects" is a project of micro-sculptures of insects. Through delicate goldsmithing work, hundreds of pieces per insect have been created and assembled to represent the beauty of ladybugs, grasshoppers, crickets, caterpillars, flies, bees, and beetles. Steel, brass, gold, silver, and other metals, as well as ceramic and plastic materials, have been used.
The use of gears and components from antique clockwork adds an element of connection with time. It's as if each insect carries embedded within it a past story, reminding us that everything in nature is interconnected and in constant motion.
The beauty of these tiny sculptures lies in the minuscule details that are revealed through careful observation. "Jeweled Insects" reminds us that art transcends scale and that even the tiniest beings can become a source of inspiration and wonder.
